DocLens Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how DocLens collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the app, including PDF reading, AI analysis, local highlighting, exporting, subscriptions, and customer support interactions.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect device identifiers, login tokens, subscription status, purchase-related verification data, usage counts, app diagnostics, and user-selected language or region preferences. When you choose to use AI document features, the service may also process document metadata, extracted text, risk snippets, summaries, and clause data required to fulfill the analysis request.

2. Document Content

Imported PDF files may be stored locally on your device. Some processing, such as AI summary, risk analysis, clause extraction, quota verification, and status synchronization, may require sending document-related text or metadata to backend systems. You should avoid uploading highly sensitive materials unless you are comfortable with that processing.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected information to authenticate your account, deliver AI analysis, manage usage limits and subscriptions, verify purchases, improve reliability, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Purchase and Subscription Data

When you purchase or restore a subscription, DocLens may process Apple transaction identifiers, transaction JWS payloads, product identifiers, subscription status, usage entitlements, and related verification results. This data is used only to validate purchases, restore entitlements, and maintain billing consistency.

5. Local Storage

DocLens stores certain files and settings locally, including imported PDFs, generated highlighted PDF copies, cached analysis results, and app preferences. If you delete app data or uninstall the app, locally stored content may be removed.

6. Sharing and Service Providers

We may rely on infrastructure and service providers to host backend services, process AI tasks, verify subscriptions, and maintain operational security. We do not sell your personal information.

7. Retention

We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, fraud prevention, entitlement verification, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. Retention periods may vary by data type and legal obligation.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. However, no system can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for protecting your device and local access.

9. Your Choices

You may control local files, app permissions, exports, and whether to purchase or restore subscriptions. You may also contact support regarding account and privacy questions where applicable.

10. Children

DocLens is not directed to children, and you should not use the service if prohibited by applicable law in your jurisdiction.

11. International Use

Your information may be processed in jurisdictions different from your own, subject to applicable safeguards and operational requirements.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of DocLens after changes become effective means you accept the revised policy.
