Basic Usage: Actions
- Configure the Name, Type (Points, Madison, Tempo, Scratch, Snowball) and the number of Sprints for the race.
This can be changed at any time.
For example, set Name=Test, Type=Points and Sprints=4.
- Press the ⨁ button to create an Action
- In the Action dialog, enter the Bibs and click the Action Type:
Sprint, +Lap, -Lap, PUL, DNF, DNS, DSQ
-
Any non-digit character can be used to separate bib numbers.
On a mobile device with the "telephone number" input, use comma (,) hash (#) or plus (+) to separate numbers.
You may have to switch to another screen to enter a minus (-) character (more on that later).
-
For example, press ⨁, set Bibs: 10 20 30 40, then click Sprint (or press OK/Enter).
Then, press ⨁, then Bibs: 20 30 40 -50, then click Sprint (or press OK/Enter).
A minus in front of a bib number indicates a tie. In this, case 40 and 50 are tied for 3th place.
- Results are updated instantly
- Press the ⚙ button next to each Action to Edit or Delete it.
In our example, change the Bibs in the last Sprint to 20 30 40 60.
Press ⚙ next to Sp2 now, change 50 to 60 in the dialog, the press Enter or click on OK.
- Use --Move Before-- in the dialog to change the row order, or Drag and Drop rows in the Actions list.
In our example, open the dialog on "Sp2" and select the --Move Before-- position, then press OK.
If your device supports drag-and-drop press and hold on "Sp2" row and drag it on top of the "Sp1" row.
- In the last Sprint, enter the full finish order.
Advanced Usage: Potential Actions
- Create potential Actions that have not happened yet, then convert them to real Actions quickly:
Break, Chase, OTB, NML, Cmpct
-
In our example, create Break 10 20 30 70 80 90 showing riders who are ahead 1/2 a lap after Sp2.
- 10 20 30 70 80 90 gain a lap.
Press the ⚙ button next to Break 10 20 30 70 80 90.
Then press the + Lap button in the Actions dialog. .
This creates a new + Lap action based on the existing Break.
A new Action is created whenever you press a Type button different from the current Action type.
To create a new Action with the same type, press New.
- Say 10 20 30 70 80 90 do not gain a lap and all go back into the pack.
Create a Cmpct Action to record the group is together again.
There is no need to delete the Break Action - leave it there as documentation.
- Potential Actions make it easy to respond quickly to the evolving race situation.
- Unwanted or extra actions can be deleted. Press ⚙, then Delete from the dialog.
Saving and Loading
- Save saves the race to your Downloads folder in .csv format.
The browser will not overwrite an existing file. It will create numbered versions.
You can open the saved .csv file in Excel. If you edit it, save it as an .xlsx.
Otherwise, PointsRaceWeb may not be able to read it again.
To share the results, open Downloads (usually from the upper-left control menu).
Select the .csv file. On most mobile devices, you will be presented with options to share the file (email, etc.).
- Load: Previous Races. Use Load to load previously saved PointsRaceWeb .csv files.
- Load: Omnium Points. Use Load to also load .csv files with column headers "Bib" and "Points".
Do this to initialize the starting points of an Ominium Points Race.
Other columns in the initialization .csv file are ignored.
Notes
- Ties: indicated by a - in front of the bib number.
Spr: 10 20 -30 40 means that 20 and 30 tied for second place, with 40 in forth.
N-way ties: Spr: 10 -20 -30 40 means that 10, 20 and 30 all tied for first place, with 40 in forth.
- Pulled riders: are given a finish order based on the number or riders remaining on the track at the time they were pulled.
They are also scored in the results.
PUL is not the same as DNF.
Keep this in mind in non-Omnium Scratch races where riders must finish, even if they are prevented from reentering in the final laps of the race.
