indicate that it conforms to the standard for Pot Still Scotch Whisky set up

The New York Herald of the 3rd inst. remarks :—
Miserable weather over all of the cotton belt continues to be a big help to the future market, and speculation during the lost week has been active and excited, with the volume of business and the violence of fluctuations on a par with that of 1903. Prices at the close of the week are decidedly higher and sentiment even more bullish than at the beginning of the advance, and there seems to be scarcely anything in the situation to warrant any more of a decline than would naturally come through the influence of liquidation for profits.
Crops reports have been the poorest ever experienced at this time of year and
well they might be, considering recent weather, for with the continuation of
heavy rains and 1 w temperatures for a month or more could there he anything
other than stunted growth, insufficient cultivation, seed rotting in the
ground and no chance whatever of replanting 1 Hence
the crop is seriously late and in immediate need of phenomenally good
weather, and if this fails to materialize nt once, continuing so for a
protracted period, there will very likely be a prepondeiance of opinion to
the effect that relations between supply and demand will become so strained
as to warrant famine prices.
Already fears of a very moderate crop are in the ascendency, and as there have been no evidences as yet of a falling off in the con sumptive demand commensurate with the indicated smallness of the yield, it is only natural that the feeling with regard to the future course of prices should he optimistic in the extreme. The most sensational reports come from the northern half of the belt and the best from the south-west, but even these are as bad as what would be considered the beat in what is commonly known as a normal season, and so, taking it altogether, the average condition is believed to be far below half way favorable.
In view of all thia it is not to be wondered at that bull speculation has been on the rampage with prices advancing one half cent per pound on one day and showing a not rise for the week of nearly fifty points on new crop deliveries, even after a decline of an average twenty-five points from the best.
The trade generally is looking for a very low condition figure to-morrow and a possible decrease in the acreage to be cultivated. It has been prepared to a certain extent by the receipt of several private reports during the week, all of which, while varying considerably, were nevertheless pessimistic enough as the condition of the crop toward the last of May was reported to be anywhere from 78 to 63.4, and as the latter figure came from a source usually very close to the official figure its significance was all the greater.
There are those, however, who scoff at the great mass of calamitous advices, arguing that exaggeration is being resorted to and that it the actual facts were known, higher crop ideas would be entertained; moreover, they assert that the acreage is still a matter of doubt and that a return of favorable farming conditions co-incident with the prevailing high level of prices would indnce a heavy increase, if late, in the planted area. But even so it is a well known fact that in time past a large acreage has produced less cotton than a small one, proving that the season is the real arbiter of the yield. Of course if the season is such as to allow an outturn of one-half bale per acre, several million acres will make a tremendous difference, but if the weather is bad and the land does not produce as it ought to, several million acres will not make such a great deal of difference.
In the bumper crop year the average yield was close on to two hundred and thirty pounds, and last season it could not have been such a great deal less, but what a difference there was in the seasons themselves as compared to what the cotton belt lias bad to contend with thus far Take Texas, for instance. That state on the whole is supposed to be in the most promising condition, especially in the southern portions, but it is very hard to believe that a cotton crop can make good progress in the face of cloudbursts, hail storms and abnormally low temperatures. As a case in point, take Ellis county, the most productive county in the state, situated in the black land country. This particular section has had torrential rains during the last few days and these have come after only a short interval of sunshine. As a result mail advices to parties outside of New York lay great stress on the unevenness of stands, the water soaked condition of the soil and the litter impossibility of getting into the fields to give the plant the necessary cultivation.
This sort of talk is not taken at its face value by the trade at large, ns speculation is always sceptical of anything save good reports and therefore refuses to be convinced. Other states are sending complaints of about the same ilk—Southern Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and the Memphis district are especially insistent in their claims of irretrievable damage by reason of the rain and cold. In addition, cotton seed is said to be scarcer and dearer. In a few words, the situation is just this -.—The season is one of the latest on record instead of being one of the earliest, as was expected along in March and April, and the weather is still dubious. Spot cotton is in good demand and in small supply ; the demand for goods, while spasmodic in some lines, is very good on the whole and the statistical position not bearish. Prices, however, look high, considering what they were less than two months ago, but they have been much higher and the majority opinion now is that unless inconceivable improvement shortly takes place in crop conditions speculative values will show further heavy advances.
Manipulation is conspicuously absent at the moment and the idea is that the July delivery has served its purpose in so far as it will be utilized to form a basis for bearish operations in later deliveries, although there are fears that July will have to bear the brunt of the May deal, or in other words, heavy tenders will be mode on the former month. At the same time it is regarded as significant that very heavy short lines of new crops were covered toward the end of the week, and at any rate a big weather market will be but little affected by purely local conditions. New York has a fairly large stock of cotton, but if reports concerning supplies in the southern interior are at all correct, the chances are that cotton held in this market will be industriously sought after before a very great while. Furthermore, if such changes should be made in the New York contract as to discourage shipments here to this port, and if in addition to this the crop is a late one, there is apparently very little danger of a burdensome accumulation. The outlook seems to be bullish.

An excellent show is at present being given at the Tour Eiffel. Among the
best turns of Saturday evening were the two debuts which we reported in
our previous issue, namely Mile. Lydia de Rostow, a Russian dancer, who
gives an excellent exhibition of the really marvellous dances peculiar
to her nation, and Mile. Phalene, who so far has been unequalled in
Egypt as a dansense en soupleese. Of the other
turns the three Sisters Florence are still prominent as singers and
dancers, their dancing being exceptionally good, and the frequent
encores which they receive are richly deserved. Front place must also be
given to Miss Annie Grey, whose selection of English songs is always
popular, and Miss Violet Esdale is. a singer and dancer of quite
exceptional merit. Miss Lyda Osman, always an idol of the gods, is more
energetic and delightful than ever, and Miss Pina Carnio is also
deserving of special mention as a comedienne. The
Barberis are two excellent Italian duettists, and Miss Gabriel- lys
makes good use of a very fine voice. Finally we would mention Diana and
Venus, whose poses are really artistic and are always greeted with well
deserved applause. Indeed the whole programme is of an [cant read] good
standard.
The deputation of the Alexandria Stock and Shareholders Association had an interview with Sir Eldon Gorst yesterday afternoon.
Sir Eidon stated that he was following the crisis with great attention. We understand that no proposals of a very practical character ensued from the meeting.
An advance to meet the immediate necessities of-the Cassa di Sconto e di Risparmio has been made by the Anglo-Egyptian Bank and the Imperial Ottoman Bank. It is now confidently hoped the difficulties of the bank will be surmounted.
The excitement in regard to the position of the Cassa di Sconto e di Risparmio should now subside and, although for some time the situation of the bank was grave in the extreme, owing to the withdrawals, the crisis appears to have been averted. Chevalier Giacomo Rimini sub-manager of the branch of the Union Bank nt Trieste, who was summoned from Europe, arrived here yesterday, and after an examination of the situation of the Cassa, sent a telegram to the head office at Vienna wherein he asked that liberal assistance should be given in order to tide over the difficulties.
The only class of land, which has been affected by the crisis, is suburban building laud. Land in the cities has not been influenced at all as can be proved by the fact that rents not only keep up but arc rising. Prices in the suburbs in the immediate neighbourhood of the big cities have been only slightly influenced for the worse in comparison with the serious depreciation of the so-called building lands in the outlying suburbs of Alexandria and Cairo. For example speculation has been busy nt Mandara, and the present holders of land there have been badly hit. The same tale is to be told at Cairo, where an enormous quantity of land in the further suburbs has been the subject of keen speculation, for which it is now difficult to find pur- liasers at very reduced prices. The most hopeful sign of the times is the purchasing power of the fellaheen who are ever most, eager to buy real property in agricultural districts nt high prices.
There could he no surer proof of the very restricted area embraced by the financial crises. It has only affected the small fraction of the population, European and native, who come within the radius of the Bourse. The voiceless millions of the fellaheen population were never more prosperous, and they have been absolutely untouched by the present depression. It is into their hands that the gold, which lias been flowing into Egypt, has come, and as their only ambition is to buy land or to hoard, they remain aloof from the disasters which have overtaken the specultive fraction of the population of Egypt. Happy fellaheen ! O fortunatos niinium, etc.
The Bulletin of the French Chamber of Commerce at Alexandria writing on the financial crisis remarks :— "One must not lose sight of the fact that the actual price of cotton for November is twenty dollars the cantar, and it is estimated that if nothing happens to spoil the harvest the crop will be in no way inferior to that of last year, namely 7,000,000 cantars, whilst the cultivated area has been largely increased. It is evident therefore, that if the price of 20 dollars is maintained, the returns will total at least 700,000,000 francs.
As reported by our special cable of the 13th inst. Lord Cromer was invited to attend the fare well dinner which was given at the Carlton Hotel last Tuesday by the Pan-lslamic Society to its lion, secretary, Shaikh Mushir Hosain Kidwai. Sir Charles Elliot presided, and after he had proposed "The Health of the King-Emperor," which was loyally honoured, "The Healths of the Moslem Rulers," including the Sultans of Turkey and Morocco, the Shall of Persia, and the Khedive of Egypt, were enthu- siactically pledged. Shaikh Kidwai, in returning thanks, said that Pan-Islamism, though in full sympathy with the constitutional and legal agitation in India, was in deadly opposition to any sort of armed effort Lady Cromer wrote : "My husband is ill and begs me to say that he greatly regrets that ill-health prevents his attending the dinner to which he has been so kindly invited. He wishes me to add that he recognises with pleasure that Indian proceeds on different lines from Egyptian Pan-Islamism.'*

The Constantinople correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that people there are convinced that England, for various reasons, can neither leave Egypt nor declare a protectorate without grave complications and possibly conflicts ensuing. The Sultan, while never allowing that he is pleased with the occupation, has resigned himself to it, while a protectorate would be most distasteful to him, as he would then lose the feeling of suzerainty, which satisfies him. He is now tranquil in feeling that England upholds his prestige. England could only end the occupation when she could be certain that her interests and those of Egypt would not be jeopardised by her withdrawal. Any way that day is too far distant to be thought of seriously at present

A very remarkable proof of how partial is the existing crisis in the money markets of Alexandria and Cairo on the general wellbeing of the country, is to be seen from the returns of the Customs Administration for last month. The figures for May are most satisfactory and clearly demonstrate that however acute the crisis may be it has not affected Egypt generally, for the ever advancing prosperity of the country cannot be retarded.
The total imports in May amounted to L.E. 1,995,039 as against LE. 1,897,123 for the corresponding month last year, an increase of L.E. 97,916. The exports show nearly a quarter of a million increase. The total
amounted to L.E. 1,567,111 as compared with L.E. 1,342,663, or an increase of L.E. 224,448.
The total imports from the beginning of this year to the 31st inst come to L.E. 10,394,031 against L.E. 8,867,666 for the corresponding five months of last year. The total increase in value therefore is LE. 1,526,365. The exports during the same period tell an equally satisfactory tale. They totalled L.E. 12,061,658 as compared with LE. 10,214,072 for the same time in 1906, an increase of LE. 1,847,586. During the first five months of this year therefore Egypt's exports have increased in value by a million and three quarters, and the imports by a million and a half.
The value of the imports under every one of the fourteen categories, into which they are divided by the Customs Administration, show an increase. The following are the total increases in the various classes of imports, as compared with the returns of the first five months of last year :—
Animals and their alimentary products, L.E. 126,817.
Skins and articles made of skins, L.E. 53,579.
Miscellaneous products of animals, L.E. 6,633.
Cereals, Vegetables, corn stuffs, etc.
139,491.
Spirits, Drinks, Gils, L.E. 44,020.
Rags, Paper, Books, L.E. 29,181.
Wood and Coal, L.E. 16,313.
Stones, Earths, Vessels, LE. 84,314.
Chemical products, medicines, etc.
30,291.
Textile Industries, L.E.
Metals, L E. 153,580.
754.247.
L.E.
LE
The only decreases registered are L. E. 133,836 in colonial goods and drugs and L. E. 2,412 in tinctures and colours.
Of the exports increases of LE, 4,399 are shown in animals and animal food products ; L. E. 10,683 in other animal products ; L. E. 139,237 in cereals, vegetables, etc, L. E. 1,836,942 in cotton and textile industries. In sugar and colonial goods decrease of L. E. 52,321 is registered.
At last there is a prospect of Alexandria having a fine pier on the new quay and after months of discussion and negotiation the question as to the final details of the pier concession to he granted to Mr. Joseph will be decided upon at the next meeting of the Alex, andria Municipal Commission.
On Sunday evening about 9 o'clock two Swiss, both German subjects, were seated at the Flasch Brasserie in an advanced state of intoxication, when two Italians, in company with ladies, seated themselves at an adjoining table. The Swiss showed great want of respect to the ladies who were with the Italians, and these latter naturally resented the insults, the result being that a general melee took place and chairs, glassas, etc., were soon flying in all directions. Suddenly one of the Italians produced a razor and aimed a vicious blow at one of the Swiss, named Pranz Passinger, the blow taking effect in the abdomen and causing injuries of a very serious nature. The wounded man was immediately taken to the Dirlich Pharmacy adjoining, while his assailant took to flight. The news of his arrest has not yet been received.
(Aujourd'huidh 1/2)
MR. E. HUTCHINSON
A telegram wan received at Alexandria this morning announcing the death of Mr. Hutchinson, of the Anglo-Egyptian Bank, who expired at Dublin yesterday. The deceased was for many years in the service of the Hong-Kong and Shanghai Bank and latterly acted as agent for that bank at Tsien-Tsien. Two years ago he came to Egypt on his appointment as chief Inspector of the Anglo-Egyptian Bank with residence in Alexandria. He had been in bad health for years past and had been treated for a cure of consumption in California. Latterly he became weaker and weaker and suffered from nephritis
MISS DE MORGAN.
Mias Mary Augusta de Morgan, Directress of the Reformatory for Arab Girls at Helouan, who died recently at Cairo, after a brief illness, belonged to a remarkable family, and was herself a woman of unusual gifts of character and intellect. She was the daughter of Augustus De Morgan, the celebrated mathematician, and the niece of Campbell De Morgan, senior surgeon to the Middlesex Hospital, and a man of the first eminence in his profession. Her mother, Sophia Elizabeth Freud, hod been brought up in the circle of philosophic reformers, who exercised such immense influence over English thought and life in the earlier part of last century, and as a girl knew Coleridge, Lamb, and Blake. For 20 years after her husband's death Mrs. De Morgan's house in Cheyne-row, where she was the near neighbour as well as the intimate friend of Carlyle, was a meeting- place for many friends, men of science and of letters, artists, reformers, and philanthropists. Miss De Morgan inherited from both parents very considerable literary power, as well as singular nobility of character and great social aptitude. As a writer she is best known by two volumes of stories, "On a Pincushion" (1877) and "The Necklace of the Princeas Fioriwonde" (1880), which are of very distinguished quality, and have been the delight of more than one generation of children. She was also the author of a novel, "A Choice of Chance" (1887), and more recently of another volume of stories, "The Wind Fairies" (1900), besides several other minor works, including a short life of her mother, prefixed to the interesting volume of "Reminiscences," published after Mrs. de Morgan's death in 1895. It was, however, by her personality rather than her writings that she was known and endeared to a large circle of friends in all ranks of life. She had a genius from first to last for making and keeping friends. With young people, in particular, she had an influence which came partly of her humour, kindness, and good sense, and still more because she always seemed to be at heart of their own age. But older men and women also found in her an intelligent sympathizer and a loyal comrade. She was one of the closest friends of William Morris, - whom she nursed in his last illness. For many years she was an ardent social worker among girls in the Eastend of London. Her health hod for long been delicate, and in the autumn ot 1905 she went to Egypt, where circumstances led to hor settling down to the charge of a reformatory for Arab girls at Helwan. The death from typhoid at Assuan of her nephew, Dr. Augustus De Morgan, in whom the medical eminence of the family seemed likely to renew itself was a great shock to her, and probably hastened her own end. Mr. William De Morgan, the reinventor in modern times of lustred pottery, and the author of the novel "Joseph Vance," is her only surviving brother.

Professor Flinders Petrie, the eminent Egyptologist, is about to give the public the benefit of his ideas on some problems of the modern world in a book shortly to he published by Messrs. Constable under the the title of "Janus in Modern life." The book is a development in some measure from his recent Huxley lecture, and it deals with questions ot race and immigration, communism, philanthropy, and individualism in relation to historical philosophy, from a thoroughly modern point of view. Vistas are opened up in various directions, and emphasis is given to the position of our world at the parting of the ways, severing us lrom one set of opportunities, rendering us liable to another set of penalties. Can we circumvent any of these dangers 1 Professor Petrie's book is full of keen observation and comment, and sudh deductions as he draws from the past are keenly applicable to the present

REGATTA
The handicap for tomorrow's regatta is the same as last week. Rating Class Course D, Class I Course A, Class II Course M.
In last week's regatta, the "Seir el-Mina" fouled the black and white buoy on the second round; she is therefore disqualified for that race, the "Delikanli" taking fourth place.
Also a slight mistake occured in the working out of the corrected time of the "Emmina;" her place should be third not fourth.

NOTES ET CRITIQUES

L'Agricole a regagne 1/4 a 7 3/4.

The new law strengthens the representation of intelligent classes in electoral assemblies and reduces the number of the unintelligent. It is hoped by this means to diminish the number of uneducated members of the Duma and to introduce more already experienced in local government. Each class elects only its own particular members, thus peasants and workmen cannot be represented by outside agitators, as at present.
Elections have been suspended in the Turkestan steppes and Yakutsk territory. Only seven cities will be allowed independent representation, instead of 19 as before. (Reuter)

PERVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS
TO THE EDITOR OF THE "EGYPTIAN GAZETTE"
Dear Sir,- It seems to me and to othersm who live anywhere within hearing, of this establishment at Boulac, that the word "Prevention" might well he left out of the name of the place. What is done to the unfortunate dogs when they get there, dogs being among the few animals who do not suffer silently; and the cries and distressing howlings that go on for hours, is extremely disturbing. As a member of this society, which is supposed to try and prevent cruelty to beasts, I think that the matter should be looked into, and something should be done, to make the life of these dogs, (many of them pets) during the time they wait for death, less painful to them, than it apparently is-or else the name of the place of their imprisonment, had better be changed. Thanking you for sparing me a little space in your paper. I am
POLICE DOG SERVICE
TO THE EDITOR OF THE "EGYPTIAN GAZETTE"
Dear Sir,- I should like to thoroughly endorse every word of Canis Major;s letter which appears in your columns today. A friend of mine suffered exactly the same experience with regard to his dog, the other day. He was still more unfortunate, for after three days' frantic struggle with amazing red tape and imbecility he recovered his dog only in time to die of disease contracted in the black hole of Bovlac in which the poor animal had been confused. Yours truly,
The jury had been locked up for hours. At least the officer of the Court was instructed to provide refreshment. "Shall I order twelve dinners?" he said to the foreman. "Make it eleven dinners and a bale of hay," replied the veary foreman.

All Cyprus has been in a state of great excitement owing to the case brought by the Limassol Police against a number of Cypriot Greeks of that port The question at issue was utterly insignificant, but in this happy island we are so at a loss for interesting events that it has been magnified to such a degree that it has developed into a political manifestation of the first magnitude The details of the case deserve recounting, as they illustrate the political ideals of a noisy portion of the populace. On the Name Day of the King of the Hellenes, a number of Cypriots got together in one of the alleys of Limassol with the object of discharging some mortars filled with powder in honour of the occasion. The lane was crowded with a nondescript rabble, which included many children. The Inspector of Police, Yousbashi Televantou, who is a Greek, had received certain complaints just before, as some people were alarmed, for on another occasion one of the mortars had exploded and had hurt one of the onlookers. He accordingly repaired to the scene and asked the man, who was discharging these instruments, to go to a more lonely spot, as they were usually fired off in the outskirts of the town. The man was about to comply when the inspector departed. He was, however, summoned back as he was told that it was determined to discharge the mortar on the spot The Yousbashi in order to prevent any accident, ordered the mortars to be removed, which was done. Half an hour later he was stopped while walking with his wife by a local Greek advocate, a schoolmaster and the editor of a local paper. These three persons declared to Yousbashi Televantou that he had no business to interfere as it was a political matter and that the honour of Greece was at stake, for it was necessary to celebrate King George's Name Day in this manner. As it was useless to argue, the officer was about to leave them when they began to hiss. He was followed by the men for some distance but got to his home. The excited conduct of these patriots hail attracted considerable attention and their conduct was much commented on. It was thought that this storm in a tea cup would have ended there, but the Greek local newspapers determined not to let the matter drop. They waxed most eloquent over the insult offered to Hellenism because the mortars had not been suffered to be discharged without interference from the police. They declared that the sacred idea of the union of Cyprus with Greece had been thereby brutally violated, etc., etc- Long discussions ensued in the Greek Club at Limassol as to what line of policy should be pursued and the populace became very excited. Meanwhite the police brought an action against the three men for creating a disturbance, insulting the officer, and firing off the mortars in a public place and the advocate, the schoolmaster and the editor were cited as defendants. The police officer was declared by the patriotic party to have offered an insult to the Greek flag by his conduct To show their sympathy they went in masses to the quay to say farewell to the three defendants on their departure by boat for Famagusta on their way to Nicosia, where the case was to be tried. Gn the arrival of the steamer nt Famagusta a large crowd gathered at that port to greet the defendants. Greek flags were waved and the Mayor of Famagusta delivered an impassioned harangue on the subject of the union of Cyprus with Greece. When the train arrived at Nicosia with the advocate, the school master, the editor and their faithful hangers-on, who had accompanied them all the way from Limassol, another scene of enthusiasm took place on the platform. The case was heard on the 5th inst. and the advocate was ordered to pay a fine of 10s and £24 15s costs, while his partners in the affair were acquitted. The defendants and their followers returned to Limassol on the 7th inst in a very excited state. The advocate and his friends went about the town yelling, "Long Live the Union with Greece," and a mob followed them re-echoing the same refrain. The crowd screamed before the house of one of the witnesses on behalf of the officer and smashed two of the windows, all the while crying for "Union with Greece."
The case has aroused considerable comment, as it shows the extraordinary attitude of a section of the Cypriot Greeks. All Greeks of common-sense in the island, however much they may sympathise with the idea of political union with Athens, are quite averse to such ridiculous manifestations. The noisy and factious "Patriots," as these enthusiasts call themselves, have aroused general ridicule by their conduct, and have afforded the Moslem population an unfortunate exhibition of Greek factiousness, for every sane person recognises that it would be a colossal misfortune for the island if it ever ceased to be under British control. Pending the occurrence of a threatened earthquake, a South American paterfamilias sent his boys to stay with a friend beyond the limits of the fatal section. The convulsions did not turn up when due, but the youngsters remained in their place of safety till the following note preocured their recall: "Dear P.- send the earthquake along here, and take home your boys."

The Palestine Exhibition, which was opened at the Agricultural Hall, Islington, to-day by the Bishop of London, with the patronage of H. R. H. Princess Christian of Schleswig- Holstein, and many of the Bishops and distinguished laymen, represents an ambitious attempt on the part of the London Society for promoting Christianity among the Jews, to stimulate among Londoners a more practical interest in the work of Christianising Israel, No better means of drawing public attention to that work could well be conceived. The idea is to enable those who have never visited Palestine to gain a more intimate knowledge of the country, and its many interesting characteristics, than can be obtained from books and pictures, and the scheme has been developed along elaborate lings by the Rev. Samuel Schor, who is a converted Jew, and a native of Jerusalem. There are many features of interest, which are calculated to afford instruction not merely to those who have never travelled in Palestine, but also to those who have seen many of the things herein described, but who have not had the advantage of a trustworthy explanation of points of detail.
The exhibition is divided into eleven principal sections, describing, among other things, native industries at work, in a real Jerusalem street; full size representations of the "Threefold homes of the people" : a Bedouin encampment ; a Bethany home ; and the "House of a rich man from Damascus". The courts of agricultural include every agricultural implement used in Palestine. A field is improvised, and the farmer is seen at work with his yoke of oxen. There are also a number of valuable models, one of which depicts Jerusalem as it appeared in the time of the Saviour. The model took 25 years to construct, occupies a space of 144 square feet, and is said to contain a million pieces of wood dovetailed together. Another very interesting feature is a gigantic raised map of Palestine, made under the supervision of Mr. Armstrong, Secretary of the Palestine Exploration Fund. Other striking exhibits are the life-size tabernacle; Herod's glorious second temple, the Roman judgement court, with the "Pavement" made on an ancient Roman design; and the Jewish Synagogue.
To the lovers of art, the picture gallery will be a great attraction. This contains no less than 400 original paintings and drawings of Palestine scenes and sacred subjects by modern artists, and includes exhibits by J. S. Sargent, R. A., and Harold Copping.
In connection with the exhibition there are demonstrations of oriental scenes, wedding customs in the east, Jewish religious ceremonies, also lectures by such well-known men as Sir Charles Warren, Sir Robert Anderson, the Rev. Canon McCormick, Professor Johns, Archdeacon Sinclair, and Professor Henslow.
The exhibition will remain open until July 2nd.
