DATA: The DATA sheet contains a complete dataset for the 94 species of European marine gastropods is presented. For the abbreviations of the life history and environmental variables refer to the Material and Methods section in the main manuscript. Additional abbrevations are detailed here. Dev. mode stands for developmental mode, while P, L and NP represent planktotrophic, lecithotrophic and non pelagic species. Northern lat. and Southern lat. stand for the northern and southern latitudinal limits of the distribution, respectively. Depth, U.L., and Depth, L.L., represent the upper and lower bathymetric limits of the distribution, respectively. References are numbered following an aphabetical order in the sheet REFERENCES.
